Illinois recently approved the Clean Energy Jobs Act creating Illinois's Community Solar Program. Through this program, Illinois residents can sign up to support a new, local, solar project. Energy from the project flows to the electric grid, replacing fossil fuels and lowering emissions. When you sign up to support a project, you receive clean energy credits that lower your electric bill every month.More Information
Community solar is a new state program that enables homeowners and renters to support a local clean energy project and receive savings every month on their electricity bill.
Here's how it works:
Energy from the sun is converted into clean electricity by the community solar farm.
This clean electricity is connected to the utility, replacing fossil fuels and lowering emissions in the community.
Electricity flows as normal from your utility through the broader electrical grid to your home.
Everyone who signs up supports new clean energy and receives savings every month on their electricity bill!
We are one of the country’s leading community solar providers
and currently manage over 100MW of projects across the
United States. Collectively, these projects generate over
133 million kilowatt hours of clean energy and prevent over
100 million pounds of carbon emissions each year.
